2016 Marquette

2016 Marquette

Marquette is a newer addition to our collection of planted grapes.  It was created in Minnesota to give growers in colder climates the opportunity to grow a deeper and richer red wine.  The variety is hardy and can withstand temperatures up to -32 degrees fahrenheit.   It produces a lovely medium bodied red wine and has enough tannin to be aged in newer oak barrels.  Our Marquette is limited in production and definitely worth stopping in to taste.

NOSE: In this wine you will find scents of stewed dark fruits followed by an earthy terrain.

PALATE: The palate of our Marquette has flavors of stewed fruits followed by a smokey finish.  It has great acidity and and body style that falls in between a Pinot Noir and a Syrah.
