2023 Albariño - View 2

Albariño has origins in Northwest Spain and Portugal. It is believed to be a descendant of Riesling, which is why we decided to plant and grow it in our cool climate growing region. This wine has aromas of apricot, orange blossom, lemon, and green apple. It is crisp, and refreshing with excellent minerality and an aromatic finish.

NOSE: Dry in style this Albariño is bursting with aromas of apricot, orange blossom, lemon, and green apple.

PALATE: An explosion of citrus fills your palate.  The mouthfeel is full with a medium finish.  The crisp balanced acid makes this wine enjoyable to consume with or without food.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
This wine has aromas of apricot, orange blossom, lemon, and green apple. It is crisp and refreshing with excellent minerality and an aromatic finish.
Vineyard Notes
The vineyard site where the Albarino is grown had been prepped for this variety for 4 years and was in an ideal state to grow a high quality crop.
Production Notes
This crop came from the second year after planting. The skins were soaked for 2 hours then pressed clean and fermented cool.
Winemaker Notes
This was a pleasant surprise due to the fact that it produced fruit in its second leaf. We usually don't produce wine until the third year, however, this fruit justified farming it to produce a vintage.
Food Pairing Notes
Albariño pairs exceptionally well with white fish and meats as well as leafy green herbs.
Other Notes
We are excited about this variety and its potential to thrive and consistently produce an expressive aromatic white in our cool climate.
