Our John W. Simpson Sparkling Series honors the man who had the vision to start planting grapes and open Good Harbor Vineyards on the Leelanau Peninsula back in the late 1970s. This Blanc de Blanc was produced using the Charmat Method to keep the fruit flavors found in Chardonnay up front and present on the nose and palate. This lively wine is certain to stimulate and excite your senses.

NOSE: Dip your nose into the glass and you are welcomed by rich yet bright scents of apple with traces of lemon zest. After a few moments spent in the glass this wine opens up to showcase aromas of apricots.

PALATE: Blanc de Blanc was made in an extra-dry style giving it the perfect level of sweetness on the finish allowing you to drink it alone or to pair it with a variety of cuisine. The wine has layers of apple flavors and toasty notes complimented by a creamy texture with a clean long finish.

This blanc de blanc is fresh and citrusy, with floral notes (like stephanotis) with some pineapple. The Charmat method of carbonation doesn't result in the creamy, bready notes found in Champaign, but the advantage is fresh and intense fruit aromas and flavors.

While in the UP I picked up a couple bags of Trenary Toast. If you have ever enjoyed Reims Pink Biscuits dipped in Champaign, then you have to try Trenary Toast Tart Cherry and Sugar slices dipped in Good Harbor Blanc de Blanc. What an amazing Michigan experience.
