Leelanau County boasts some of Michigan's most stunning beaches, offering a blend of beauty and serenity that makes it a must-visit. From sprawling shores that are perfect for picnics to hidden coves ideal for a quiet afternoon, there's a slice of paradise here for everyone.

Vans Beach- A perfect beach for anyone seeking a mix of sunbathing and exploring. The nearby town of Leland offers quaint shops and eateries, making it a convenient spot for a full day out, and on a lucky day, you might even be able to find a Leland Blue Stone!

Perfect Beach Day Tips

To have the perfect beach day in Leelanau County, preparation is key. Here are some of our favorite steps to a guaranteed picture-perfect day:

Choose Your Beach: Decide on a beach that suits your interests. There are so many wonderful beaches to choose from in Leelanau County. Make sure you are checking beach regulations when deciding which beach best suits your needs.
Plan Your Day: Arrive early to secure a good spot. Mornings often offer the calmest waters and fewer crowds, making finding the perfect spot easy.
Bring Entertainment: Beach games, a good book, and snacks are vital to making a perfect beach day in Leelanau County.

Wine Tasting at Good Harbor Vineyards: Known for its cool-climate varietals like Riesling and Chardonnay, Good Harbor Vineyards offers a welcoming atmosphere and knowledgeable staff ready to guide you through their selection.

Jim (Assistant Winemaker) recommends 2023 Albariño as his favorite summer sipper! It's light, fruity, and super refreshing on a warm summer day. Stop by our tasting room to try the Albariño for yourself, you won't regret it!

Traverse City Cherry Festival: Just a short drive away, this festival offers a variety of events and attractions that are sure to be a fun time for the whole family.

Local Farmers' Markets: These markets provide fresh, local produce and handmade goods, offering a taste of Leelanau's agricultural bounty.

Joey (Good Harbor Vineyard's Brand Ambassador) recommends going to the Suttons Bay Farmers Market- The market is charming and right next to all of the lovely shops downtown Suttons Bay.
